Mercedes w111 with a 5.6 litre engine transplant

Hello everyone, it's been a long time since I posted anything but my son asked me a question about a car that he spotted in Central London recently,
Basically he wanted to know what the 4 semi-circular metal holes are, front and back, under the chrome bumpers of this converted car?
Does anyone know?

The outer ones appear to have electrical connections so I would guess at aftermarket parking sensors or alarm proximity sensors/cameras??-------SNAP

Thank you, I thought that's what they might have been. Possibly horrific to some but having lived in London for the past 53 years I can understand why the owner did it.

The original 3.5 V8 version had 200bhp. the car also has the later bumpers with rubber inserts.

For power look to the later W126 V8 engines---around 300bhp IIRC
