Mercedes w126 gearbox codes please

Could anyone please help me to find out all the possible variations of gearbox's I can use in my vehicle please....

My setup is a m117.965 engine (265bhp model)
Original and current gearbox is 722.356
chassis 126.044
LSD diff (not asr) code unknown til I check that aswell

I need to know what other variants will be a direct swap, I've heard all 722.3's will go before but that can't be right can it.

Please please help. I can't find any trustworthy info anywhere
Would a 722.355 box fit out of a 420? I know they are the same ratios but?
722.323 out of an early 560 117.968??
I want a good swap and can't find any 722.356 box's that are worthy of paying for. I need her back on the road

Any 4 speed from a 420, 500, or 560 will work in your car.

Any 722.3 will work..

I have one that was repaired/refurbished that I was keeping as a spare for my cars but realistically id probably never use it... Its £500 if its of any interest.
