Mercedes W204 NTG4 Comand - How to put Card Reader Slot Flap/Cover back?

Hi All,

Hope you are well.

I had some issues in my 2008 W204 NTG4 Comand because I put the card reader in the wrong way by accident and it got stuck which meant I had to pry it back out with a screwdriver and during the process the card reader slot flap came out as well. It did not break thankfully.

I managed to put one end of the flap in but its very hard to put the other end in as it cant be bent enough to make it go in. I have attached 2 pictures of the slot flap (Note the flap has a shorter rod on the LHS compared to the RHS rod and also attached 2 pictures of the sides of the actual slot.

Hoping it is possible to put this flap back in without removing the whole NTG unit.

Looks like you will need to remove the unit and take off the front face of the unit. Otherwise you risk snapping off the pins

It looks like this could be the only way unfortunately. I have seen videos on youtube on how to remove the unit which is actually easy but haven't been able to find information on how to remove the front plastic trim... Is it glued on or would be attached by some clips?
