I could get close to 50 mpg from my straight 6 , e320 . Only on long runs obviously. The first few cold miles don't half knock the mpg down on the computer. 👍

Very normal for a long run, it’s when you drive around town and have late teens for your mpg. That’s when you get concerned. The v6 diesels don’t like short 5 minute journeys at stop start.

I don’t think anyone really expects a big V6 diesel to do anything other than a horror show on short stop start journeys . I’m guessing most people know this before they buy one .

I average 29 mpg over 6 mile journeys to work , 2 tonne 3 litre glc . It's not all bad . Some petrols in a 1.2 format only see 32mpg .

Using the E280 cdi Sports Estate, I recently did Leeds to Birmingham and back - Most of it on M/ways.
Average mpg was 42
I regularly do Leeds to Morecambe on the A65 and none-motorway roads.
Average mpg comes out at 37/38.
I'm more than happy with those figures.
