Lots of Mercedes!
Hi,

this is a draft version and still being worked on. Would welcome all comments so i can get issues resolved before going live.

Appreciate your time.

Looking good Jay. My only comment so far would be that the www.mercland.com should perhaps be a bit larger? And you don't need the 'independant Mercedes Benz Specialist' on the left hand side as you have it under your logo

Impressive. The graphics are not as intrusive as I first thought they would be

Love the junior staff....... LOL

I like it. I do agree with bob6600 that the Mercland logo should be more prominent. Apart from that it’s way better than most specialists websites I’ve used. 👍🏻

Looks good to me.

Looks good.

I would concur with the branding not being big enough and the grille beneath it looks a bit low res (grainy) to me albeit a very minor thing.

Agree with logo comments , needs to be bigger , otherwise think everything looks very sharp

That's a nicer site than some of the big dealers.

I have a few of comments ....

- first off I concur with the comments about the size/impact logo and branding made by others

- the site was reasonably snappy on my system - this is good

- used cars presented nicely - search straightforward

- I like the service history details provided for the cars on sale

- As far as car sales are concerned think the unique of Mercland is that you are not just selling cars - you know how to prepare fix them - which means you know how to prepare them and provide backup. On the top menu you have 'Preparation' - over to the right. I think you should emphasise this with a link to your approach and to your servicing on the details page for each car. This is a differentiator that a lot of independent used car dealers don't really offer.

- Your pages are potentially quite long. In the 'Option Extras' page you have some small centred text which looks a bit weedy and the line wrapping and centering makes it difficult to read. Below that are some large picture panels for options such as tow bar and parking sensors. It's not obvious that these are being offered unless a vistor scrolls down quite a bit. It might be worth trying to use some of the space higher up to highlight these using smaller image panels to keep them in view when a visitor lands on that page.

- the Aftercare menu item is a drop down - the others are not. Would it be better to emphasise Servicing rather than Aftercare because Aftercare implies post sales. Presumably many Service customers will have bought their cars elsewhere. I got a better impression taht you could deal with bodywork from the Meet the Team section rather than the page on Bodywork linked from the drop down. In the list of "what we do plus more!" theb mention of "Star" is at the end - when I had a MB and was looking for independent servcing that's one of the things I'd look for first - you mention generic computer diagnostics.

- Meet the Team ... big team. Emphasises family - fine with that. Photography and mini-bio's a bit variable. But that's a big team. And you have some guys at the bottom who do servicing and body work. If anybody actually bothers to scroll down far enough to find them. It might be worth trying to find a way of organising this to make sure that the different departments are identifable from the top and that it emphasises that you actually have a family business that is also a properly structured substantial business with depth of skills and capability.

Two things I spotted albeit only had a quick glance, under meet the team, Jay had his name spent as Malek and Manek, not sure if that's a mistake or just alternate ways to spell the name, save with mum Malek. On the servicing section, whilst showing the additional items to service, the prices do not line up with text on my mobile, not looked on a pc though. Otherwise, looks very good.

A minor thing -- along the same "branding" comments others have made-of the 6 images the home page scrolls through I would start with the Mercland Garage Frontage shot by default rather than that lovely SEC ?

I agree with Graeme - lose the SEC and retain general shots of the garage and stock

I know you are just at the draft stage, but I would avoid starting every advert with "This stunning..." Smacks of hyperbole!

Thanks all... Love the comments, especially the negatives as I can get them sorted now before we go live! Keep em coming!

Updated now with various improvements. Further comments appreciated.

Very nice Jay. Its slick and loads quickly.
One comment,,,,,,,,,, I'd move the Mercedes grill image to the right of www.MERCLAND.com as its currently hiding the brand name.

Are you allowed to use the 3 pointed star logo at all or is it an infringement of copyright?

yes it is unless its on a car owned by me... where is that? thanks

It's not on the website, I was wondering if it could have gone on the logo above the grille (like the W210 etc) but I guess not
