Michelin Pilot Sport CUP 2 are killing my car!

When I decided on new tyres for my new wheels, I went with Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2. Now the car is not going to see a wet road and I have to say the tyres are awesome, really good!

But one thing reviews don't seem to mention, given the state of our roads and stone chips scattered everywhere, that are coming out all the bloody pot holes, is that these chips seem to stick or compress to the tyre, then flick out all over the car. All I hear is "Tink, tink" lots of tinks, tinks! of all the chips flying around the arches.

I have come back after enjoying a day out in the car and I have loads of lovely little stone chips around the wheel wells!

Anyone else notice this, never had this issue with 4S tyres??

Yes Pilot Sport Cup 2 tyres do it, and I find that Pilot Sport 4 S do too. Soft tyres pick up grit, and spit it back at the car.

Personally I find the PSC2 too extreme for road use in the UK, the operating temperature window is too small and warm.

I have a set stored in a tyre hotel, which I used for a few hundred miles before deciding that they’re best kept for track use only.

Bloody things, well it’s not the tyres fault but the state of our roads! Well I need to change them! Another job and faff!

They do it even on track, it’s just what they do.
