I have just put my summer tyres back on and measured the winters for wear. The Michelin Alpins 2s have done around 18k miles and tread depth is still 7mm .
I think I give them a :bannana:.

I have Michelin Primacy HP on the 320 SLK. Had to replace one this month thanks to a drill bit through the side wall of the rear off-side. It cost me £105 fitted by an indie dealer. The annoying thing was all four had been replaced in October!! The tread on the Michelins seems to last forever though, so I'm not planning on changing anymore soon! Drill bits permitting!

Got myself the Pilot Primacy as well and very pleased with them. On the last car, I tried Pirelli when I had to put new tyres on (it has Michelins on before) and they were a bit of a disappointment in terms of noise.

Back to the Michelins for me :)

The rubber on M+S tyres is a very hard compound, and they come with up to 10mm tread when new!
