    Silly question time......maybe!

Is there a generally recognised convention for what different coloured microfibre cloths are used for? I have yellow, blue and pink ones and just use which ever one comes to hand.

    Thanks

Well, in this house the yellow ones are SWMBO's for cleaning and dusting, the blue ones are mine for use only on the cars, and the oldest orange ones are for any dirty jobs, having been retired from normal car use.

I've been using the same cloths for cleaning, drying, polishing, buffing, cleaning wheels, cleaning the interior. I just pick up the least dirty one and put them all in the washing machine every now and then. Probably not the best idea.

Low temperature wash (no more than 40C) and no fabric conditioner and they wash fine. Having different colours for house and car means no arguments with SWMBO!

Dry in the tumble dryer at low temperature to ensure a very soft cloth.

Not specifically a set colour but I do tend to keep to certain colours for the same task.

I’ve just had a lovely thick microfibre cloth bought for me, yellow on one side, blue on the other.

Should I share it with SWMBO?

No, or it will immediately become hers, and you will never get permission to borrow it again.:(

White for seats, green for dash and interior, blue for windows and yellow for exterior. Tyres get an old flannel to remove excess product.

    Colour is irrelevant.

    Quality is all important.
