It's that time of year again , Nick Mason (Pink Floyd drummer & founder member) parks a number of cars from his collection on his lawn and lets us all get very close to them , no plinths or velvet ropes here , not even around his Ferraris , one of which is worth a reported £40 million plus.

It's a laid back affair with food , art and music but from personal experience I would suggest visiting on Saturday , arriving early.

Last year the Traffic on the only road passing by Middlewick lane was VERY heavy , with many people making U turns to escape it . I fear this might one day force this event to relocate, which would be a shame.

I do realise that posting it on here might make the traffic even worse !! :D But it's all for a good cause.

Yes it is a good place to visit, but does get VERY busy! I only live down the road and last year it took me an age to get out - But worth the little bit of traffic aggro

There is something about rock stars and cool cars. Whilst I have only met Nick Mason once, I was much better acquainted with Pink Floyd's manager Steve O'Rourke who I ran in 1998 in this McLaren.

We even managed to win the British GT Championship that year with his co-driver Tim Sugden.
The latest re-mastered Blu-ray release of Floyd in Pompeii is well worth a watch/listen!

Pink Floyd at Wembley Stadium 1988 was the first gig I ever went to! Mind blowing. Then I saw them at the Knebworth Festival 1990. They were rather good live.

Met Nick a few times at Goodwood.... nice bloke and always has time to talk cars.

Sadly I must be the only guy in the world who fell asleep at a Pink Floyd concert.

They were promoting their "Echoes" tour which was the forerunner of surround sound at Bradford Uni in late 1971. I had a ticket but was knackered due to staying up all night to complete course work and then attend lectures and seminars during the day. Persuaded to still go along in the evening, I fell asleep.

Street cred absolute zero for the rest of the course! 🙄

I started this thread and mentioned in my first post that Traffic issues might force Mr Mason to move this event elsewhere , which would be a shame .

Glastonbury is (allegedly) limiting ticket sales to reduce overcrowding. It is just the way it is these days.

Victim of own success. The fact that this event is in some blokes back yard is a big part of the appeal , shame it might end.

Maybe. But another path would be to simply restrict ticket availability, possibly by price. Or just to spread it over more days: perhaps individuals one day and Special Interest Groups another day?

It doesn’t have to become gargantuan like Goodwood. At the end of the day the event is “supposed” to be about raising some money for a good cause while celebrating his cars and his history.

It’s amazing how much the classic and special interest car thing has taken off this last decade. None of this stuff was foreseeable ten years ago. (Goodwood, Bicester, the Concours events, the racing)

The internet and social media has had an amazing effect on people’s hobbies and interests.

On the other hand… the 60’s and 70’s Classic Auctions are stuttering, so maybe there are other changes afoot.
