I took my car to an Indy yesterday who plugged it into star as I have a suspicion it had been clocked. He looked at the mileages he could find but came to the conclusion it hadn’t been clocked.

HOWEVER

I’ve attached a picture I took of an odd reading from the cars EZS. My car is currently showing 53780mi but the EZS shows 559241km.

Can anyone shed some light?

Thanks
Matt

When I brought my w212 from a main dealer they gave me paperwork that verifies the mileage. Apparently they can check it from the gear box and the rear axle . To check wether it tallies up with the instrument cluster.

I think that has been covered before, some variations in recorded mileage between different devices on the car is not uncommon.

Sorry, I misread.

No I didn't... computer says 59241 Km.

But yes stil a big difference (unless it should be miles and the software is showing the wrong units)

Computer says, five hundred fifty nine thousand two hundred forty one km's equivalent to,
Three hundred forty nine thousand five hundred twenty five miles.
Odometer shows, 53,780 miles.
Something wrong here.

Yes I did.... :(

With my reading glasses on, it's indeed 559,241 Km...

Silly question... does the odometer display in the OP's car have 5 digits, or 6 digits....?

Odometer shows 56,800k miles. So basically the EZS is showing 349,525k miles. But the Indy said he doesn’t think it’s been clocked. To me it most definitely looks like it’s been clocked.

Could it be a software glitch on EZS?

Don't you think just by looking at the car you might notice if it has a third of a million miles under its belt as opposed to 56 thousand ? Or are your thoughts that someone has been tinkering with a laptop and while doing so messed up there by raising your suspicions ?

Car doesn’t look in bad condition although recently a lot has gone wrong. Both intercooler hoses, exhaust pressure sensor, engine mounts, gearbox mount, both drop links. And a rattle from the front I can’t find. I replaced the discs and pads all round which were all stamped up as genuine Mercedes but no record of it being in Mercedes for parts only 1 service @ 17k

How long have you owned the car? How many previous owners? Contact previous owner. Take it back to dealer.

You say "lot's of things have gone wrong with it recently..." , that means nothing on here.

This is a Mercedes Benz forum...you are not alone. One here you have people with 100000 milers who have had little trouble and people with 25K on the clock who wish they had never heard of Mercedes Benz :p

I said lots of things have gone wrong and also stated what exactly has gone wrong. Sorry for the confusion
