I recently missed the opportunity of capturing 123,456 miles on my 124 '96 E280T. We took it to the Norfolk coast for the weekend. Good fun, with all 7 seats occupied at the other end, and one journey provided this opportunity. Did I say it was a 124 E280T? (Check out the kph after the trip meter):D

Sorry, I did say this was sad!!

You didn't traval on the A124 from Canning town to do 124 miles to Norfolk at 0124 in the morning did you?:dk:

221 and 164:o

Did you notice the time on the clock?

1 to four.

spooky!!

As Ted said, Mactech, it was 1 to 4 on the afternoon (brilliant, Ted!). As you probably know, you can't get food 24/7 in some of the sleepier parts of Norfolk, and even this new Macdonalds we visited there only opens 1 hour a day (1/24)!:p

I know - we had to stock up til the next day. Boot full!;)

Just as sad was when, in France, my '96 129 SL 500 hit its landmark.:o

one day i will get there with my r129

luckily you were just under the 13.0kph (check the day timer) speed limit

Yes - doing 129 kph!

Yes - doing 129 kph!

As you said, Ted, spooky! We did wonder whether or not the 124 could do 124 mph, but didn't bother trying! The 129 was a bit spur of the moment regards the trip, so the reset happened 12.9 before, but the moment was missed.

My final offering (promise!) is my 124 cab pulled onto the forecourt of my MB dealership, which is on a dual carriageway. I must get a life!

Is anyone coming up for 123,456, with 789.0 on the trip?? I'll get my coat.

At 50 and 2k revs you should be seeing 3bar oil px though

The 280 was a cheap, hungover ebay purchase! Either the sensor or gauge are eratic, but mechanically, it's fine. I needed an estate for a few months last year, and it's being used as a 'crew' bus for Le Mans next month, then I may get rid. To be honest, I'm enjoying having a car with all the qualities that we like here, without having to be precious about it, so bangernomics is very much in play, although I've just had a new ball joint/tracking for the mot.

Should have had the OTG reading 12.4 to complete it :)

Just missed it by 14 miles.
Next milestone: 124088 with 722.4 on the trip.
Yes, it's a slow day.

this one is my previous car, citroen c3.

there was lots of traffic on that day. i struggled to keep the speed up and keep an eye on both the road and the speedometer.

well, it's a nice memory for me now.
