Car
W213 E220d
Hi Everyone ! I have purchased W213 220d last weekend. I just chcecked it with Carly and my millage check looks all over the place. Values are in kilometer and car is at 36k miles. I somehow find it impossible that EPS mileage would be 400k+ on a 2018 car ? I have attached the image of a scan. Otherwise there is 0 errors, car looks like a 36k car and I am not sure should I be worried.

Thanks

Was it a private sale?

Have you got a printout of the Mercedes service history from the dealer when you purchased the car? (Assuming it's not a new model)
Have you checked the MOT history on the Gov.Org website, again assuming its more than 3 years old.
Both will show accurate mileages

With those mileage discrepancies I would be looking at how good the Carly app actually is, and its accuracy.
The true mileage can be obtained by a Mercedes specialist using Star OBD diagnostics to interrogate the ECU's and cluster if you are unduly worried.
Steve at Avantgarde Automotive in Clevedon can probably assist.

Thank you that would be my second post asking for Indi specialist for Mercedes. I think the discrepancy is so big that is almost impossible and is more of a Carly issue. I have 3 services at 12k 25k and 35k and first MOT was done at 35k as well in October 2021. Car has no fault according to Carly (my old BM always had some) and it does not look like it was abused especially 400k kilometres like :D

The MOT in Oct '21 showing 35k miles is a good indicator your Carly report is wildly inaccurate.
Steve is a well recommend indy in your area so good to bookmark his website.

Welcome to the forum BTW:thumb:

Welcome to the forums.
Try inspecting the mileage in those modules with STAR or icarsoft diagnostic instead as a sanity check?
Could it be that some modules were replaced with used ones from another car?

Some MB specialist told me an interesting story where a car was fitted with a device to record 1 in every 3 miles and it was virtually unidentifiable until the entire car was inspected, top to bottom. More disturbing was that this car was an approved used by MB. Not faulting MB here at all btw.

Mileage blockers are plug and play and you will never know they have been there. The one for the e-class actually stop all recording. The problem is that modern cars hide mileage so well. I had a brand new (company) Skoda Fabia in 2013 and in 6 months i did 54,000km (mostly motorway). I looked after it and cleaned it and when i handed it back you could have clocked it to 5,400km and you wouldn't have know. There was not a sag on the seat or a shine on the wheels/pedals; and if there was a deliberate intention to deceive changing a steering wheel or pedal rubbers a few thousand km's before sale would soon be enough to fool anyone.

Also the "mileage correction" specialist know to change all of the on-board recording devices so they all match.

In this instance maybe contact the last owner via listed on the V5, clearly they are not going to tell you if they have clocked it, but you might get a feeling about them. Alternatively have a look at things such as tyres; if the car has only done 36K it might/should still have its original tyres (like Dunlop, Michelin or Good year) with a 2018 production date stamped in them. Also check the front and rear brake pads. The front should still be the original, the rears may have changed (e handbrake and autohold to blame) but with such a low mileage for a 3 year old car then you would expect to be MB OEM?
