Did anyone else other than Dave take any pictures?
1. Sell Smints for £10 each to local miscreants who think big star grill means 'dealer' 
2. Follow link posted earlier to eBay
3. Deal with Torsten who is a very nice man and buy insert
4. 10 minutes in garage removing clips carefully, replacing insert and reinstalling
5. Take photo, post on Internet and look smug
Seriously though, it cost me around £90 for the new insert from Torsten and it's not exactly a direct replacement e.g. it's a bit loose until you modify the clips and not OEM quality but with a bit of buggering about it's OK.
Fitting took around 10 minutes and I was being careful.
I've even got someone who wants to buy the big start grill
