Hi All

I have a few minor scratches on my E class 270cdi avantgarde. It is metallic black and it has hints of metallic green when in sunlight?!

Anyhow I have some black T-cut that says it is suitable for all metallic finishes?! what do you all think?

also have several stone chips on bonnet any cures for this?

any suggestions much appreciated.

thanks

rakesh:)

'Colour-Bak' polish, in your case of course in black, (think it's made by 'Turtlewax' but not sure, and my car isn't handy at the moment) comes with a lipstick type tube of solid coloured wax which is good for filling in minor scratches and chips. Leave for a couple of days to harden off then polish up normally. Worked a treat for me.
I wouldn't personally use 'T-Cut' for fear of going through the lacquer coat.

dude follow my thread and get the car mopped :-)

Scratch X is good it is gentle. The key test as to whether a scratch will come out is whether your finger nail catches on it as you run it across. If it catches it is difficult to remove.

I had a bad scratch on the boot lid. I ended up putting in touch up with a tooth pick allowing this to dry and then polishing over with scratch X this has made it so it is not noticable but you can still see it if you look hard.

The Autopia E book (see Power Polish thread with sticky) has details on how to remove light scratches with lots of tips.
