Hi

Purchase this car about 5 months ago - Very Nice standard OE car (I would like to think one of the best in the UK when I got the car)

Owned car by a lady who made sure the car was serviced each year by a main Merceder-Benz Dealer (every invoice from new in a AMG folder + Every MOT as well)

She had the car for the last 13 years before me !

The car was good (yes very good) - But I want to get the car to full OE standards so here the project starts

Just got the car back from the Mercedes-Benz Bodyshop (been in the shop 5 days)

Shot blasted every bit of rust off the car (not that there was much anyway)

Could not see any rust a round the boot lock - but we shot blasted it anyway !

Repainted the whole car (inc front and rear bumpers and side skirts)

Painted with Glasurit waterbase and Mercedes-Benz Standard Glasurit 923-447 HS Clear scratch resistant VOC

Wet Flat and blocked all panels - Then polished the car for over six hours with 3M 3 stage polishing system (paint now like glass)

Fit the side skirsts back correctly (no gaps - Commion issue on C36 AMG)

Repaired wiring to folding mirrors - Now work like the day the was new

Paint looks the better then new now due to using the latest Glasurit HS Clear scratch resistant VOC (this what all new MB cars have)

Next job to wax car in autoglym High Definition Wax (This is very good wax)

Refurb all alloy wheels (full strip back - paint and powder coat to OEM standard)

Nice car in a great colour.

Can I suggest new number plates and an AG grille?

Number plates are new - MBUK New car spec (with MBUK Milton Keynes Post code)

I want to keep the car OE on the grill subject

I do like that colour looking at yours makes me wish i had bought the 43 i looked at in that colour.
I believe a AV styled grill insert "was" available from MB so would still be "OE"

Just had the Air-Con Regased this morning - Ice cold now better them my 2010 C Class !

Yep, that's where mine came from! First mod after buying the car back in 2001.

I've got a feeling the OE Avantgarde grilles are quite expensive though, weren't they something like £150-200 a few years back (?)

Well, asked the MB dealer just after I purchased my 43 last year and when I heard the price quoted my socks fell down  and luckily I was seated. If I recall, it was a £400 equivalent.

Thanks

Keep the car in the garage - Not seen any rain with me yet

I paid about £160 back in 2001 but it might have been discounted. I posted the part number on this forum somewhere so the price can be easily worked out :)

nearly as nice as mine ;) handles and grill would be next "OE" upgrades on my list, nice looking car!, i think i paid £90 for my original avantgarde grill from a company called bluestar which unfortunately stopped trading a few years back.

Has anyone used autoglym High Definition Wax

What,s you view on it ???
