Can anybody tell me how the plastic mirror covers are supposed to be held on?

Took my car (W210 estate) through a carwash (I know, I know   ) and they both came loose.

The metal frame inside is OK, just the plastic covers fell off. Know I cant make them stay on properly

If they are knackered, is it a big job to repair and can I update them with the ones with indicators in?

Cheers.

OK, can confirm that the mirrors are knackered, both of them will not stay on properly. Spent all afternoon messing with them!

The question now is can I replace them with the later indicator ones, and if so will I need to replace the whole unit, or just the covers?

Has anybody replaced their non indicator mirrors with the later style, and if so where did you source them and how much is the going rate? :D

You would need to replace the whole unit - not just the covers ... sorry :(

Try an email to MBenzNL (Steve) [email protected] - he may have some in stock. There's a little bit of wiring to do in order to make them blink, and the connectors will need changing, depending on where you source the mirrors, but they bolt straight on to the same holes !

Cheers Sym,

Do you know what the going rate for a pair is?

Depends on whether you currently have power folding ones or not.

Mine were folding and cost about 400 Euros at the time, I think - roughly £270. So expect that non-folding ones would be less.
