hi guys i have a problem with my mirrors -just the one on the right side-when i pu in reverse it should to move down so i could see the ground curb when i am backing up.it just tilts a little not all the way.
plus i have it set for my mirrors to fold in when i turn engine off but it does not.i can do it manually easy

i forgot to tell you it is 2001 s 500

You have to set the mirror dip position to where you want it to be when reversing, I can't remember how off the top of my head but it will be in your owner manual. The mirrors don't fold in when the engine is switched off either, will only be when you lock the car.

I think its only the passenger side that dips when reversing. Folding mirrors upon locking was not an option on the 2001 model.

Have you had the instrument cluster replacement (theres a recall on them) done ?

As eGuru says I didnt think 01 cars had the auto-folding facility - and I have a suspicion the cluster has been replaced and code for auto folding mirrors but the rest of the car doesnt support it .
