I have a factory-fitted COMAND unit with DAB in my 2011 W212.

On the "commercial" ensemble there are a number of stations I cannot get in the car that I can in the house on two different DAB radios. The strange thing I have tried re-tuning to no avail. I have no such problem with the BBC ensemble.

Any ideas?

DAB is all about the aerial/geographical location you need a boosted aerial to pull strong signals. When I fitted my new head unit a new shark fin was fitted "pita" to fit but well worth the bother. Basically it uses a 12v feed from the HU to amplify the signal. The new fin now handles GPS,DAB,AM,FM.

What I meant to say in my original post is that some of the missing stations, e.g. Heart 80s, have previously been available and one day just disappeared, along with some others, never to return thus far.

On my scarce jaunts to Ayrshire I normally listen to Planet Rock, the Channel disappears on nearing Scotch Corner and doesn't Tune back in until nearing the M6!:wallbash:

Is it COMAND NTG4 (PCMCIA slot) or COMAND NTG4.5 (SD card slot). It changed over mid MY2011

I had a similar experience with my W204. It started of intermittent and then the Sat Nav also started to not know where I was. Turned out to be the aerial at fault. Replacing that brought everything back.

To be honest Mercedes DAB is useless

Taking Heart 80s as an example, the channel switched from DAB to DAB+ in August 2019. Could this be about the time you lost the channel?
