Well the MOT's are fine what you could do with is finding the service history,my suggestion as it has no MB service history would be to use the V5 to find out where the two MOT's were done, maybe the first MOT was the guys indy and they did the services, but you seem to have decided to reject the car best of luck with that.

Ok thank you everyone! Super efficient on the checks.

I will send the car back as I am out of options to retrieve service history before the 7days are up!

Enjoy your Sunday's

Nope, I'll give this a go! I'll try almost anything :)

Let us know how you get on if you reject the car..

I don't see how you can find the details of the previous owner, these are no longer printed on the V5.

Nothing wrong with buying 'on condition', if you know what you are looking at. It's not too difficult to tell if the car was well looked-after in general. And with a good eye you can also tell if it has been repaired - panel paint maching, panel gaps, shut lines, and improvisations behind the front grille or rear bumper, etc.

And the missing MOTs in addition to the missing service history can be a clue pointing to a legitimate anomaly in the car's early life.

But the main question is how long do you intend to keep the car? If you intend to keep it for the longer term, then fine.

But if you are planning on keeping it for only 2-3 years, then keep in mind that you will be 'slaughtered' by the dealer over the missing services come trade-in time.

My advice would be that if you do like the car, and it looks legit, then you can choose to keep it - but only if you paid well under market price and are aware that you will get for it well under book price when you sell it on.

If the car was advertised as having no service history can you then return the car because it has no service history? Or do cazoo have a "no quibble" returns policy?

My guess is that It was a company car, used by a business with it’s maintenance facility and so they serviced and maintained the car for the first three year.

Then at three years the car came off lease but didn’t sell straight away - waiting to be returned, repaired, prepped, on a forecourt or moving around the trade.

I wouldn’t be surprised if it was waiting for repair (not necessarily accident damage, but could have been) and was then MoTed when it was roadworthy again.

Alternatively perhaps it was sold in April, and so was MoTed upon sale, and then changed hands again in December, when it was MoTed again for Cazoo.

Did it change owners around April 2021?

Cazoo , music to my ears.

Prefer to pop outside and visit dealerships myself tbh. A northeast lad should be looking around , there's loads on your door step .

No quibble according to the returns policy they sent me and on their website

You need the 15 digit number on the V5 not the vin to find out where the MOT's were done,it is a long shot but looking up the garages concerned might be that one was a MB specialist or as Bobby Dazzler says it had in house services.

Specialist would have recorded services on the DSB

I don't understand 😕 you buy a car advertised with no service history and then you try and return it due to no service history, why buy it in the 1st place

In my original post. I was told that sometimes there is no digital copy and only a physical one in the car which the website doesn't reflect. Cazoo have a very online only approach to selling cars.

When I bought my e350 from ford shiremoor , it didn't have digital or a service book. With only 11k on the clock I took a punt on it. Thanks to jobsworth this morning he's showed me the car actually was serviced twice in that time at 5k and 9k , obviously a timed service rather than mileage. You have learned alot from this today , use the apps and tools available in your next search . Good luck.

So it turns out it has service history but only "on board " service history. How do I get that transferred to the DBS?

You can't.
