Noticed when out in the cls today the bottom right chrome insert from the grille has either fallen off or been pinched. Can these be sourced individually?
Just noticed the dreaded missing fin whilst cleaning the car. Anyone any ideas if these can be bought as an individual part?
Used grilles on ebay for around £100 mark but seems excessive to have to replace the whole thing for 50p's worth of fake chrome. I guess a call to the dealer tomorrow might clear it up if nobody has any ideas?
Maybe I will use this as an excuse to move to an aftermarket single fin grille..
On the 219 it is a one-piece grill I'm afraid so the individual parts are not available separately. A quick check reveals a replacement one is ~£200.
Back in the day you could order different length chrome strips for a couple of pounds if you lost one but this stopped sometime in the early 2000s with one-piece grills.
That's what I thought. I did some research on the US forums though and the newer 2008-on grille is a bad fit apparently - you end up with a gap at the bottom, even after having to fabricate some sort of bracket.
Just looked at those - had not realised there was a different grille on the AMG. Looks pretty sweet, although none available on UK ebay and pretty pricey on international ebay. I'll have to keep an eye out..
Edit - I guess I am going to have the uncertainty of not knowing if it will be a good fit though (different shaped bumper on the AMG?).
What do the panel think of the single fin aftermarket grilles?
