Mitsubishi colt outer cv joints needed

Hello everyone,

I hope you are all well.

I got my first car last year , it's a 2004 Mitsubishi colt, automatic, Japanese import.
In the last few months I have noticed a clucking noise when turning the wheel sharply, while I was getting my tyres replaced my mechanic told me after he heard the noise my two outer cv joints need replacing.
He tried to find the parts but could not and I am not having much luck also!
Mitsubishi themselves only sell the whole driveshaft, but at €1000 a pop that won't be happening.

Mitsubishi sent me link for the whole drive shaft needed.

Did anyone else have this problem.

My mechanic hasn't opened up the car yet , so I am wondering is there anything else he could do?
He was hesitant if I did find the cv Joints they mightened necessarily fit.
