Mitsubishi Pajero's - anyone had one?

I had a Pajero Evolution SWB (I think they all were) for a short period of time. Absolutely mad car, drove it like I stole it for 6 months, never had a days problems with it whatsoever, it even went to Austria and back with 4 people and luggage (including skis on the roof). Highly recommend them, although mine went through fuel like you wouldn`t believe!!!

Bit confused as to which is the best model though. From what I read elsewhere there's little difference in mpg between the 2.5 and 2.8 whereas the 2.8 offers much better performance and has a camchain rather than cambelt which offers more piece of mind and less servicing costs.

You guys seem to be saying the opposite.

Also the name Pajero in Spanish translates to a not very polite word
