ML 163 Driver Seat Back - loose Side Cushion

The side part of the Seat back is loose compared to the otherside and the passenger seat. Any idea how it's attached before I dismantle for a look?

Removed seat back cover and found that there is D shaped metal suport for the side cushion. Both top and botom spot welds have come away. Will have to strip the seat down and get it welded.

Not yet. Could only feel the parts that was broken off but will post some pics when I fully dismantle for welding.

hmm, any ideas how the parts broke in the first place? I have a W163 ML as well.

I think that it is just wear and tear mine has 50k miles. You can check if it loose by comparing with the inside cushion on the driver and passebger side.
