ML 270 Cdi Loss of power, Coolant level light on, heated seats not working

Problem fixed
I would like to thank to mickeystitch on an older post. Will explain:
I was ready to cut the cat in half but I thought to have a final search again.
I bumped into one saying that in the front fuse box there is hidden 10 amp fuse. Right at the back of the box which is held down with 5 torx screws. I managed to change that and everything is back to normal. Heated seats work, max power from engine, engine coolant light off now.
I would like to advise everyone with the same symptoms start with this fuse and then move on.

Thanks again

Hello everyone

I am new to this forum, but I have so many question I don't even know where to start.
Well I bought an ML 270 Cdi for my missus and soon as I drove off the next day the coolant light came on with loss of power, and a strange louder hum, what sounds like a hole on the exhaust, but there is none. Of course I checked the coolant level at first which is fine.
Next went online to see if anyone had the same symptoms.
Well there is quite a few out there experiencing the same, but what causing it differs.
I checked all fuses ,the big 100A fuse on the positive terminal ( fine ) even made a direct connection to besure. There is no change. The seat heater switch LEDs just flashing, coolant light still on , no power ( max 3000 RPM )
So I bumped into a post about cleaning EGR valve, done that , NO CHANGE

I know it could be a cause for the coolant light a faulty fan controller, but IS THIS CAN CAUSE THE LOSS OF POWER AS WELL??????
Cleaned Air Flow Sensor, Checked for air leaks. TBHO there is a hissing noise from the left ( driver ) side vacuum transducer after the engine shut off. Is that normal? If I remove the hose what goes to turbo actuator the hissing stops. Any Ideas?
Anyone please????
Hi i had very similar symptóms and it took mé long tíme to find what it was so i decided to write about it. I followed lots of different threads but none helped to find the issue.
I did intake manifold flaps cleaning, egr cleaning and big service oil, diferentials, coolant, fuel filter, servo oil, cleaning of coolant tank lots of dirt in it. etc. After completing the job my cár had coolant level Light on and it did nôt go over 2000rpm. First thing to try IF coolant level Light is on is to disconnect the level sensor from the coolant tank, IT is hidden in the back of tank. Put into harness connector a bit of wire so Green and Orange wire are connected together, start the cár and see IF Light disapears.. That was my case. So you need new tank becasue sensor is built in.
No power problém. Check at the back of rhs headlight there is vacuum solenoid for turbo actuator, two Airlines at the top one at the bottom with some air filter on it. You might háve vacuum line disconnected or in my case electric connector was loose, just nôt pushed in all the way(it took mé really long tíme to find it, i messed with it while checking egr valve funkcionality,) so my turbo did nôt work, no power.
Now after big service and carbon cleaning drives Like champ. No smoke and better overal feeling of it.
I hope it Will help someone and i really appropriate you guys share your experiences.

Thanks for this post. I had same issues... And heya - fuse was blown. But in my case after I replaced - it blew again. I noticed someone attached non MB wire to that wire - it leads to ECU. Disconnected alien wire, changed fuse - and here it goes - power is back, all good. And what for was alien wire - I have not figured out yet ...
Thanks for the lead!
