ML 55 Amg

Hi All ,

let me introduce my self as a newbie , i have just bought a 1992 ML 55 AMG and i am very impressed ,i bought the car primarily for a good towing vehicle ( yes im one of those dimwits with a caravan ) i would like to know is there a releatively easy way to get a little more tourque from the huge 5.5 V8 ? perhaps a performance air filter and de cat exhaust .?? any advice or help gratefully recieved .

Seriously though, would it be possible to remap the ECU?

You could get the ECU mapped, K&N filters and some performance headers, that will get you loads more grunt!!

There's not alot you can do on that engine for cheap/quick performance gains... everything will cost alot...

oops sorry my mistake my Z32 twin turbo is a 1992 the ML is 2002 .....

Hello

I've just come back from Holiday and tow with my weedy ML350 and that tows easy peezy. What are you towing? The speed limit towing is only 60mph on a motoway anyway?

If you really need torque a ML420 is the way forward but quite a lot more pennies.

I've towed our twin axle axle caravan over 1,000 miles in the last month using our ML270 and it tows like a dream. The ML55 will be much the same but with a much nicer soundtrack and a little more oomph.

had a tow of the caravan from east coast to west coast over the A66 ...absolutley no problem what so ever ..what a machine spending the money on a full Svissvax Detail ill post up some pics before and after
