Recently I had an orange light come on -it was in the cluster below the headlight beside the indicator. No matter what I tried, I was unable to get the light out. Result -flat battery . Had fun removing battery because of electric seat ! Anyway I cannot find any mention of this orange light in any manuals. Does anyone know what it is for ?

Has the light gone out now you have changed the battery? If not, could you please take a picture?

The light went out when I installed the recharged battery. Someone said if moisture got into some component in the boot , it would bring the light on. They were unable to tell me what is the purpose of the light.

Indication of low voltage onboard?

Is the light in the cluster or on the dash? If its not on the cluster a picture may help identify what it is. Furthermore, other W164 owners may have idea of what it is.

The light is in the cluster- about 3-4 inches from the indicator light (on RH side). I am not sure if there is one on the left hand side as you cannot really see bulb until it lights up.
