Anybody have a pair of these gathering dust please? Going away with caravan shortly and I think my wife is taking the house contents just in case of a break-in

Take pity on me! I'm in Preston, Lancs

Are you planning to use the floor space inside the caravan? The ML will easily be up to towing the extra weight, just keep it low down, over the axle or forward of the axle (avoid extra weight at the rear).

Try to secure the load to stop it moving around, even if only wedging things into position. Pipe lagging (foam) is good for wedging between items, and between items and furniture.

Although don't forget the miserable weight allowance that the manufacturers provide for your goods in the caravan...

Every year on the Le Mans run I have to explain why the caravan is not a travelling shed...

Thanks. Great advice. This is our first trip out - events have conspired to prevent all the short outings we had planned since buying it.

We've booked a month on a seasonal pitch, so we are taking the big heavy awning (this van came with a porch awning plus what I understand is a dogs danglies Isabella Ambassador with carbonX poles) Of course she would like to furnish it..... lol

Actually, they are cladding our house at moment with a VERY high density foam, so may grab a few offcuts before clear up

You are planning and putting up an Awning.

May I recommend a good divorce lawyer?

It pays to enure that all sharp object are well hidden and out of reach before you start. Eating an entire box of Mogadon for breakfast will also help with the task. Small furry creatures come out of hibernation just to laugh at campers attempting to erect an awning. That is before your fellow campers start assembling their deck chairs into an amphitheater with the warden selling tickets and popcorn. Couples who have lived in perfect marital harmony for years and years have been known to beat to each other to death with their bare fists during this ritualistic horror show. Get life insurance now!! Throw the awning in the bin, you will do this anyway on the first day of your holiday. This will save you space and possibly your marriage and your life.

Put the heaviest stuff in the car, and the lighter stuff in the caravan, eg awning in the car, aqua roll in the caravan. Put your clothes in the cupboards, rather than take up space in the boot or on the caravan floor (unless clothes storage is concentrated at the extreme rear). Enjoy your break :thumb::thumb:

I have some - you have a PM.
