My wife reckons I have a wheel fetish! This is coming from a lady with 74 pairs of shoes.
We now seem to have got past the really bad weather so I thought it was time to put the new ‘summer’ wheels on the ML. I bought these genuine Mercedes wheels for very little on ebay over Christmas and had the Toyo Proxes S/T tyres fitted a little while ago. They are 20” wheels with the correct offset and 265/45 tyres. I do like the look of the 22” inch wheels but they do make the car look a bit ‘drug dealer’ and with just a 35 profile the rims would be magnetically attracted to kerbs.
These ones certainly sharpen up the looks and handling and first impressions indicate that we have made gains in both road noise and ride comfort over the somewhat hard 19” Bridgestones. We will have to wait and see how they wear or if they effect the MPG
I think the car still looks ‘stock’ opposed to ‘drug dealer’, but given my wife is an NHS director, I suppose she is a legalised drug dealer!
