ML 270 Cdi
Hi

I have bought a 2002 ML 270 Cdi W163. I have searched this and other forums but haven`t found a concrete answer.

I wonder if anyone of you out there who owns or have owned a car like this, have any experience with which shock absorbers gives the best driving comfort?
When i got the car the front shocks was pretty broken. I did no search at all and bought Monroe Adventure front shocks because they was cheap on ebay.

I've seen someone recommend Monroe shocks, but my experience is that they suck. The car is absolutely awful to drive now. I can hardly sit still in the seat because it sways so much on theese roads we have here up north. In fact it was better to drive with the broken shocks

The car sways also more rear after changing the front shocks?

I`ve ordered a rear HR sway-bar and kind of hopes that will do something with the rear swaying, but the problem got worse after changing the front shocks so i`m thinking the main problem is the shock absorbers.

I`m hoping some of you guys can tell me what to buy and what to do to get as good as possible driving comfort as you can get on theese cars!

They're expensive but we had new struts on our ML270 about three weeks before it was relegated from most used to least used car (we bought a newer one for the main car). They were supplied and fitted by the dealer, which is pricey, but it drives spot on.

It will be just guessing for me. I think I have to put the car in a workshop and get a status report on it. It maybe will be the best and the cheapest :/

Still hoping for a response regarding the shock absorbers, what work best on these cars? :)
