3rd time I'm experiencing this and each time it happens after a long cruise on the motorway, rest at service station and then accelerate to rejoin motorway , lights starts flashing and esp cuts in . First and second time it happened on the autobahns it would not accelerate beyond 60mph, third time yesterday I felt a slight judder but was accelerating slowly past 70. Switched ESP off for about 30mins all is fine and accelerating ok. Switched back on after 30mins cruising, light off and no flashing so all ok again.

Anyone experienced the same ?

Had it on Star when it first happened but no fault codes appeared.

I'm thinking tyres with different tread dept lacking in tolerance front versus rears? Currently running 2 identical (new) at front, 1 rear same brand as fronts but about 6mm tread dept and 1 rear different brand/tread pattern 6mm.

Or could it be speed sensors ?

There will be a difference in wheel speed hence the ESP cutting in. You need to go up the road with a Star connected and look at the wheel speeds to determine what one is causing the issue.

Thanks, Olly! So it's tread depth (?) . Well, winters will go on it soon which are all the same brand/pattern/depth and this hasn't happen (yet) with these on, so I shall monitor.

It could be a wheel speed sensor too.
