Bit of a strange one,

Start the car, for the first 5 minutes everything works as it should. Turbo engages with good acceleration.

Then its as though the turbo stops working and it wont rev past 3,000 revs.

Gear changes are smooth and it drives well, will hit 80mph.......just slowly.

Have checked all the vacuum pipes and found one split, replaced it, but no improvement.

Some times when I start the car from cold, there is no kickdown and no turbo at all. So its intermittent.

Hooked the car up to icarsoft, and it returned code p2600.

Anybody any experience of this?

It would be much better to get it diagnosed by Star and by an experienced MB independent.

Some times the codes icarsoft pull up are generic

I know yeah I could run to a dealer or indy, but want to try a few things first.

Mass airflow sensor?
kickdown switch?
transmission control module?
Could even be a shorted wire from relay 87?

Some people might have experienced the same and have a few simple tests to do to diagnose it.

If you just keep swapping components it will cost far more than having a proper diagnostic scan by an experienced MB independent.

It could be one of many things. If you want to check all of the main air hoses for splits that may narrow it down.

I had a split Intercooler hose that gave similar symptoms.

As above, throwing things at your car till one sticks (the items you mention are not cheap) will cost you more in the long run financially and in time vis a vis having a competent indy look at the car and pinpointing and resolving the issiu in one swoop

ps have you had the codes read, and cleared any codes since replacing the split pipe

Just seems strange that it is fine for the first few mins / half mile journey, kickdown works and the turbo works fine, then bam. Limp mode with no errors on the dash.
