after my drivers window stopped working i decided to strip it all down and take a look.
i knew it wasnt the motor as i could still hear it moving.
after drilling out the rivets and removing the whole assembly i compared it to the new unit and there was no difference. it was all complete and in one piece?
i have put it all back together and the window is still not working. i have to manually lift and lower it and while doing this all the arms work as they shud. im really confused on this :confused::confused:
any help guys????

I have just done this on my friends ML the quadrant "cog" should be fixed to the mechanism and not rotate on its own if you look at the centre of the quadrant where it turns you will see that a shear pin will have sheared this keeps the quadrant part of the regulater aligned with the arm that goes to the window arm, you will need to move the quadrant on its own and you should feel it lock into place, we then simply drilled through and pop riveted several times to stop it moving independantly.
Hope this makes sense.

really appreciate the quick response andy, but i think my brain is misfiring today as i cant picture it now ive reassembled the door lol.
any chance you could doctor an image to show me where you have riveted?
if not its fine but it would be a huge help :thumb:

Hi,
Sorry but I have only my mobile so image not possible.
When you take the regulater out again separate the motor from it, move the quadrant, it should also move the window arm, if it doesn't or slips it is because of the shear pin at the pivot point.
Put some pics up next time and I,ll attempt to describe again.
