Can someone confirm what the real world range is in the standard and the larger fuel tanks?

Assume driving style is 70mph (on motorways) which would be 90% of the time and the rest is around town.

Thanks in advance.

i would say around the 500 range but would also depend on time of year eg winter fuel vs summer

OK, good to know.

I read somewhere the larger fuel tank gives 1k miles. That seems wildly off the mark based on the above.

By ML350 I assume you are referring to the W166 350 diesel? I would estimate 400 - 450 max, based on experience. Its a heavy bus with the aerodynamics of a brick.

I'm averaging 27.49 mpg with my W164 ML350 CDi BlueEfficency according to Fuelio. (Mostly Motorway). Mine has a 95lt tank (near enough 20.88 Galls) which would seem to indicate 574 miles per average tank. I thought the W166 is supposed to be more fuel efficient than the W164 - but who knows - in the real world?

I found my W166 to be more fuel efficient than the W164 i previously owned by roughly 10%-15%

My apologies, I don't have the long range tank, my figures were based on my fuel tank, which is AFAIK a standard one.

Which, pro-rata brings you slightly ahead of me in mpg. With the larger tank your range would probably top 650 miles.
