ML420cdi Turbo Lag?

Will be giving one of these a go next week with a view to buy, can any owners give a view as to any turbo lag?

If you are trying to make a quick exit from a junction or getting onto a busy roundabout is there much lag if you floor it?...am currently hating my Golf 2.0tdi with a DSG box for the second of nothingness when you hit the accelerator.

The biggest issue getting out of a roundabout would be not so much a turbo lag but a 7-speed gearbox that is constantly 2 gears above where it should be. Even if you 'floor it' it will hesitate for a couple of seconds, then shift one gear down which is not enough to make a quick exit.

The way I solve it is by double tapping the wheel gearshift button down and flooring it. The amount of acceleration and torque released at this stage is truly intoxicating! The box will automatically upshift for you (the only thing I like about it).
