Hi All,
I'm running the standard 17" 7-spoke alloys with standard 275/55/17 tyres (TOYO Proxes S/T). Fine for summer, but I want to prepare for the cold winter months ahead. I've got some 245/70/17 Nexen winter tyres which I want to stick on a spare set of rims, but wonder if anyone's had any experience with running such tall tyres?
I'll lose the 'butch' looks, though skinnier and taller should give better ice and snow grip, and perhaps a little more comfort?..... but will these foul the wheelarches / affect lock-to-lock turns?
My speedo is a good 10% optimistic at present (reads 70mph at 63mph), so the extra rolling circumference should bring me to being bang on again - so that's a plus, surely?
Comments / experiences welcomed......
