ML63 AMG to W212 E63 AMG (Mrs new car)

Hi All,

Hows everyone finding their W212 E63 AMG? A good daily driver? My Mrs has just picked up one after selling the ML63 recently which we had since 2018.

I love it so far did drive it a little today.

It's the first time I've driven the 5.5T engine and I am impressed. Also, I know a few of you will ask. I've not replaced the 507 yet, I am still looking.

The car seems to be loaded with extras - I know a few will ask. We took the advice from the forum with the things to go for like camera, driving assistance package etc as its the family car for now and our motorway cruising for family journeys. The spec:

It's a brilliant daily driver, hard to beat in my opinion. I still crave driving mine if I haven't been out in it for a while!

I love mine. Does everything you could want with a family car on top of being a fantastic driving experience. The estate version especially is very versatile and always makes me smile how wild it can be when you give it some.

I'm sure you both will be happy with it.

We got a really good offer on it. We then looked at getting a newer face lifted ML with the 5.5TT engine but options were an issue.

Then this E63 AMG came up and just went for it. I do fancy going back to the GLE at some point in the future.

Coming from ML350, I recently acquired CLS63 Shooting Brake... while amazing car as it is, my other half is struggling with the 'lack of space' / practicality that the SUV was offering.

GLE (or GLC) with 5.5 or 4.0TT engine sounds like a sensible step up.

If you really like the ML 350 then you’ll love an ML 63 or GLE 63

No but they very very rarely come up for sale. Probably something like 100:1 ratio.

Which colour inside and outside? I’m r only ever seen a couple of black and one silver so if yours is a different colour then it really is a hens tooth!

It’s irridium silver on the outside with the black leather.

They also seems to be a different exhaust note than the non P30.

The only silver one I saw for sale secondhand was a 2012 model - with black leather - sunroof (but no panoramic roof). If I remember right it was Mercedes-Benz of Manchester advertising it in 2013/4. If yours is a 2012 then it may be the same one)

Not sure on the exhaust to be honest, I’ve never seen it referred to as a spec difference before, and my ears aren’t good enough to spot the difference! I’m sure you’ll be delighted with it.

The ultimate ML I’d say (beyond styling features very little changed even for the GLE).

My one has a sunroof too. It's a two-owner car and was originally ordered at Mercedes Winchester then sold in 2018 to the second owner then serviced at Mercedes Tonbridge.

There could be two silver p30s!

I agree it is great for the price point and not much different in comparison to the GLE except the newer one have the NTG5.5 (with car play etc)
