Hy,

we have an MB SL500 / 2000 and it has an TDMA Motorola cellphone (like the old TANGO 300) and we to change it for a new GSM equipment.

The question is:

Somebody has made this switch of Phones?

Cheers

Which head unit do you have in the car?

This car should be using D2B fibre, I can see that it has been available with the Nokia 6150 GSM kit at least. You should be able to buy one quite cheap, if correct interface unit, it would work up to a Nokia 6310i model. So quite an old phone in any case. But there is this ViseeO BT device (see other posts on this forum) that could be used instead of the old Nokia phone and then you would be able to use many different BT capable GSM phones.

Another, simpler approach of course would be to install a phone manufacturer specific kit but you would likely not get more integration than radio muting.

You might want to have a look at these web pages that have more info about phone kits:

Edited: I forgot, there are D2B based UHI kits too, perhaps this would also work in an SL500.
