Dear All
I've got a C200K W203 52-plate with standard audio 10 and a CD changer in the glove box - I've had the car since Oct 02 - there has been no problems with the audio system until yesterday!!!
Driving along listening to the radio - the radio cuts out as if there was a short circuit. After 30 seconds later it came back again! this happened 5 times within 10 minutes.
At first I thought that it was the radio station, so I switched stations - it still happened!!
I then switched over to CD and guess what, it happened on that too
All of a sudden the CD changer lost all power and I was left with radio/tape facilities only!!
I stopped at cafe and started engine - the CD cahnger came back to life!!!
Only to die again after a short drive!!
I was thinking of taking it back to the stealership for an assessment.
Yet on my return journey from my bank holiday weekend - the audio system was fine!!!
The only difference that I can recall is that on my outward journey I had placed my mobile fone (SE P800) in the cubby hole under the audio 10 head unit; while on the return journey I had placed it in the cubby hole near the (auto) gearstick!!!
So, the question is - can a mobile fone interferre with the functions of the audio 10? Has anyone else had a problem like this??
Regards
Tony
