Hi All
thought I'd post this as a newbie to MB and the W211 this confused me a little as initially I didn't know what I was looking for and the connections I had disnt look like the images I was seeing on the web.
Got new (to me) 2009 year W211 that had factory fit pre wiring for mobile phone but as noted didn't know what I was looking for, what I had in my car looked like the connector but was stood up at the rear of the centre console box and had a plastic surround, See 1st Pic.
What I needed was a holder, they only did these for the more common phones, fortunately I had a old (very) Nokia 6020 lying around so I picked up the official MB cradle for this off eBay, see pic 2.
Holder simply clips into the kit in the car, phone clips into holder pic 3.
What then had me reaching for the phone guide was the car still saying insert phone. Turns out on the Nokia 6020 there's a menu item <Enhancements> that only appears after the handset has been connected to an Enhancement, like a hands free kit. Take phone out, scroll through menu, into Enhancements, select Handsfree and pop back in to car and all is good.
Ultimately I'll fit a Bluetooth kit but as the moment I've got a fully functional car phone for the cost of the cradle off eBay. Result.
