Mobile phones & driving = a bad idea

Note how even using hands-free can add a significant amount to the distance you travel before applying the brakes! I say "significant amount" because I can't understand their calculations. Unless I'm wrong (and I often am!), 50mph = 73.3 ft/sec. So the difference between "normal" and "hands-free" of 0.45sec equates to 33 feet. YIKES! At 70mph it would be 46 feet further before even hitting the brakes!!!

Whichever it is, it's worrying.

Hard to believe that the reaction time when texting is quicker than when making a phone call though? There again, I am a one thumb texter! :dk:
