As the title says! I can't seem to find any reference to it either way

My own experience and what I've heard from others suggests that it will usually be a low loader.

My car was recovered in one of these bad boys:

Sorry, maybe did not explain myself properly. What I meant was if I were towing a small trailer and it suffered a (say) broken axle, would the trailer be covered. And if the problem were with my car would the trailer be recovered too?

Ahh.

I just realised when I saw the title of this thread again. Doh!!

I called Mobilo when we started towing our caravan, and they said they'd recover the caravan too if the car had a problem. IIRC they wouldn't attend if the problem was with the caravan though.

I keep meaning to re-check myself in case there are size limits for trailers/caravans. Apparently there are for some breakdown services.

If you are towing a loaded horse trailer, then you usually need to get a special breakdown policy that includes recovery of animals and trailers. NFU do one .
