E 500 Coupe.
I had my first experience with Mobilo on Monday. Returned home on Sunday evening after visiting Irene in hospital, no problem with the car at all, nothing showing on the dash, parked in the garage as normal. Returned to the car on Monday lunchtime to see a large pool of oil round the front and side of the CL. I thought at first it maybe the gearbox. The oil was a greenish colour and clean, this meant the power steering/suspension. Phoned Mobilo (Holland)within 30 minutes had a call from a chap called Nigel, related the above. Nigel said it was pointless attending as the fault was self evident, he would arrange for my car to be collected and taken to MB Ayr. Nigel then asked if I would like a replacement car, yes I said, Nigel said he would get back to me within 30min, this he did, he informed me that a local firm would uplift my car with an ETA of 40/50 mins, and Euro Car would call shortly. In short the car was picked up as arranged, within the hour a new E class 4 door auto with tiptronic was delivered to my home address, all this from the comfort of my home. MB Ayr called later that day to say the problem was the PS/suspension pump, a new one had been ordered ( just short of £1000) When the car is ready I drop of the hire car and collect mine. Very impressed with the whole thing.
Is a tier 1 warranty worth the money (£1308.06) I think I paid....Yes.
Is this typical of Mobilo, or not?.

very typical of my experiences with mobilo. Quick, friendly and efficient

Used the service once a few years ago with a similar experience. Excellent, couldn't fault them

With enough on your plate it is great to see excellent support exactly when and how you need it.

What do you think to the new E-Class John?

Good to hear of good service.

Hi Lee, Over all very nice, not to struck on the body shape, a bit to angular in my opinion. viewed from the rear is better than the front, I am also not sure of the new lights, the rear ones are large and very bright, the car is visible from a long way off. The headlights are very good, however, perhaps I was doing something wrong, but the main beam looked as though the dipped lights just readjusted, ie, the main beam was not instant, the quick flash was instant, but not when turned on full beam. The interior was a bit plain with cheap looking plastic dash. I was not struck on the main trim, sort of a dark plastic that tries but fails to look like some sort of wood. The leather seats were comfortable and the rear leg room was very generous. Strange thing about the front seats, electric up/down/rake/ but not forward /rear movement. The stereo was in my opinion adequate, but to be fair I did not 'fiddle' with it, but if this was my car I would change it, the sat nav was good, with good graphics. The shut lines were very good, however, the whole car felt light, ie when opening/closing the door and boot. The boot by the way was larger than that of my CL. On the road it was a different story, I liked the multi speed auto box, the kick down and tiptronic were in my mind spot on, it also stuck to the road like the proverbial. It did a very good job of soaking up the bumps and potholes. Not sure of the engine size on this one (petrol) (de-badged)
however, it has twin exhaust pipes (ie one on left and right) it was also pokey (good turn of speed) the tyres were a tad noisy, but over all the car was very quiet. No squeaks or rattles, (had just under a 1000 miles when delivered). Bear in mind the CL is a fine car and I have been spoilt, not an ideal car to compare to the E Class, in short, I will be glad to have the CL back where it belongs (with me).

I believe your covered from one MB service to the next regardless of the car's age. With this in mind would it be worth getting an A service done by a main dealer as opposed to an Indy as the difference in price would certainly cover the cost of Mobilo for a year or so. I ask this as my last service was a biggy and I went to an Indy but toying with the idea of going back to MB just got the next small service and having Mobilo as a backup

The seat thing not going back/forward. It's a manual lever it's only part electric seats. A far cry from the luxuries offered to a 600 driver.

Was it a sport you got, these are nice to drive. Like the 212 but prefer the 204. Not that I am biased.

As I understand it you are correct, covered by Mobilo until the next service. Now I have had the experience of dealing with Mobilo I am of the opinion that I would pay the extra just for the peace of mind it would give. Had the problem with the CL been something other than obvious, the benefit of having an experienced MB Tech on hand, along with Star to help me carry on would be worth every penny. Nothing wrong with the AA or RAC but the electrics on a modern MB could prove hard to read without a star.

Not sure steve as there were no badges on it. Managed to look at the figures on the trip meter, average speed 35mph and 33mpg over the 400 miles I put on the clock. Most of these miles were were on the A76, a fast road when not behind a tractor.
The car I had may have been the sport as it had tiptronic, it was very nippy and held the road as well as vehicle I have driven in the past few years.

When we had the 203 we were almost on first names terms with the mobilo guys. It broke down so often. The service was always excellent. Thats partly why the CLK and SLK are still serviced by MB dealers despite getting on a bit.
