More G500 temptation

Used 2000 Mercedes-Benz G Class for sale in Greater London | Pistonheads

I've never seen such shiny seats - polished to within an inch of its life by the looks of it.

This was up on a private sale in Edinburgh for months at a shade under £29K I think.

Is there anyone nearby who could maybe take a quick look please?

Its been on sale for a while.. Like you say, different location before.

Looks clean enough.. The seats look like they have had that cheap shiny stuff applied.

Price is good if car/mileage checks out.

Mortlake in SW London is a little awkward for me at the moment. There must be someone over West/South West London who can help with a once over.

UPDATE.

A knowledgeable forum member from one of the G Wagen boards has checked this out.

Apparently it's rotten underneath!

The chap reckons it has been in a salty atmosphere for years. Makes sense as it came from Edinburgh. So the doubly whammy of Scottish winters and sea air have taken a toll.

Seems the garage have plastered the underside with black stone chip to hide the damage.

I was advised to leave it where it is.

The search continues!

Interestingly if you check the mot history there are no corrosion advisories aside from brake pipes, admittedly as early as 2006
