Popped the merc into the dealer for a (free) MOT test today. It passed (of course!) but came back with one advisory - apparently I have been driving around with the bi-xenons adjusted for continental driving for the last two years. This would also have been the case for last year's test, and it didn't get picked up then...

They adjusted it correctly - flicked the lever or whatever it is they do. I asked whether it was owner adjustable, for future trips to the continent, but was strongly advised to let the dealer do it - the service manager told me that the lever is very difficult to get at, is sharp and prone to breaking off, which at £700 per headlamp is not a good move.

Yes, it is a bit. Didn't realise they were quite that much, but that's what the service manager said:dk:

I'd expect to buy a whole , working Mercedes for that amount of money , or less !

I had a headlamp replaced when the dealer damaged the levelling mechanism when investigating a warranty fault. £1000. Gulp. The headlamp units are not covered by warranty either!! Double gulp!!
