Moths???

Are there any experts out there that know about moths?

I have a couple of moths trying that are being attracted to the light in my room. They are outside, flying against my patio door. Is it normal for months to be flying at this time of year?

Our outside light is besieged by moths and flies and allsorts atm - came as a surprise to me too coz I'd have thought they'd have been tucked away somewhere snug for the winter by now
