So around three quarters (77 per cent) of Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT) members believe that the British motor industry will benefit from the UK staying in the European Union. So where was my nice Mercedes made? err try South Africa

So was mine, East London factory in South Africa. And a fine car it is too!

How is this connected to the EU issue though?

Agree - SMMT is UK based and represents UK firm regardless of parent company origin.

In the case of the MB's from RSA - no change any way as they are non-EU imports.

At least Motor Manufacturers getting into politics is better than politicians trying to make cars.... have you forget BL! :)

The yes campaign is running out of things to scare us with, big companies love the EU they spend fortunes on lobbyists and all they have to do is lobby the EU instead of all the different countries, and of course they hate change, none of these companies will pull out of the UK,but you wonder just how far the yes people will go ,they are already bordering on complete nonsense.
