indeed - My bro has an X-trail which replaced his Xantia - it has a smaller footprint is much more economical and has lower co2 output. The Toyota Landcruiser I sometimes get as a hire car uses no more diesel than most of the others I get - but I do agree - it's BIG

I think the main thing that bugs people about SUV's is that they are often just used as school run motors and seem to be an essential accessory to children rather than being a suitable vehicle for the family's needs overall. Because they are high they give an impression of being and imposing when many aren't
