Get a New W211 , get an ipod and an ipod dock in the glovebox


Failing that , use the aux in on the back of your unit if youve got one.

If you don't have an Aux input on your head unit - does it have a connection for a CD changer?

You can get leads for a lot of head units that convert a CD changer input to an Aux input.

Otherwise the only option left is to use an FM modulator.

The sound quality is okay but not fantastic.

From here look at upgrading your head unit to one with an Aux input.

I'll check! I didnt realise that was possible. If not it looks like FM is the only solution. Can anyone recomend a decent FM modulator?

Right. I've just checked and it is a 9803R with CD changer socket. So how do I make the CD changer input into an aux input??

Tigger, I've ordered the Alpine lead for £15 which connects Din CD Changer to 3.5mm jack in one cable without extra converters. Thanks for the tip, I will let you know if it works! Thanks

is it a mercedes cd player? if so get an AUX loom and fit it into the glove box.

No its an Alpine one, but youve given me an idea!

Done it. I now have my RCA Lyra 10gb hard drive player installed in the glove box and connected via an Alpine Aux cable to the CD changer socket. It all works beautifully!

The hares part was realising that you had to go deep into the CD's menus in order to find the turn on Aux function!!

Thanks to all for the tips. 2000 songs in my car should do for a bit!
