Can anyone recommend a free MPEG repair utility?

I've an MPEG video file that won't play in anything (Winamp, Real Player, Media Player, etc.) and I'd like to try and fix it.

TIA, David.

First off I suggest you run a utility to check that you have the correct codecs installed to run it on your PC.

Try GSPOT and see what it comes back with.

Try VLC Player from VideoLAN. Free to download and use and it plays most types of files.
Just Google VLC and select the appropriate one for your OS, i.e. Windows, Mac, etc.
It's got a Traffic Cone icon.

Tried Gspot. All that it reported was File & mime type were unknown in the Container window and that rendering failed with an unknown error.

I think the file is knackered. Other MPEG files from the same source play without error and show lots of info in Gspot.

VLC said the file had an error that could not be fixed. :(

Oh well......

Just Googled MPEG Repair and it brought up quite a few sites. Apologies if you've already tried any of these. Click on the Google link.
