Methanol is a fuel, Speedway bikes (used ?) it , My brother ran a 500cc flat track bike on it years ago. I think NASCAR used it, it burns like mad + massive main jets (old skool) and it burns invisible. There is an old video of a NASCR driver dancing like his dad next to the track, he is actually on fire but you can't see the flame. Mad.

Remind me what the meth does. I thought you can only smoke it.
As stated, can be used as pure fuel, a fuel additive to boost octane, and/or cooling. Depends on the setup/map and percentage of water:meth used.
No one really uses it as a pure fuel these days, especially on street cars.
But many can have their tune mapped to take advantage of it as an octane booster to have a more aggressive tune (leaner mix, with more timing advanced). It can be more than a little risky if some component of the water:meth injection (WMI) system were to fail, as the engine would go lean and possibly damage something.
Some people also just use WMI to help cool the AIT, and not tuning for it. These setups usually run more water and less methanol mix.

Mine won’t be mapped fully for meth, just to aid cooling and for a minor increase in performance. I am running 50/50 water / meth mix.
I also have a failsafe fitted, so any defect noticed it will alert me and prevent damage, I also have the CMGS Controller installed.
